Is Spring here already?

It’s been a busy few months here at FestiveHomeGifts.com and we hope you’re looking forward to the warmer months ahead.

We started the year by attending the Christmasworld Exhibition in Frankfurt, which is a massive trade fair for producers (both large and small) to showcase upcoming new ranges and products for 2015. It’s an amazing experience to see so many different vendors in one place, but we must admit by our third day we were starting to get into Christmas overload!

Our Spring and Easter collections are almost complete. We’ve got a novel range of #Lemax Spring village options including Caddington Village and Plymouth Corners. We’ve also got a ton of Spring accessories to help bring your village to life, plus an exclusive range of the now long retired SeasonsBay series by Department 56.

 

For Easter there’s plenty of novel decorating ideas, with some of the most popular currently being the Easter Rabbit Carrot Tree and EasterDesign centrepiece. We’ve also just received some new hand painted wooden items including a Rabbit School and Sunflower Children.

We’re extending our décor range this Spring to the outdoors too. The #Garden Guardians by Department 56 will be available to order in full within a matter of weeks. This charming and magical range is new for 2015, and centres itself on the inhabitants of an enchanted Garden Kingdom who protect, manage and grow their kingdom whilst protecting their Rabbit Queen Alice. This collection of outdoor ornaments and accessories is a fun way to bring back life to your garden this Spring and Summer. We’re sure it will be a hit with gardeners and visitors alike.

 

If you’re a fan or serious collector of teddy bears, we’ve got some of the most recent introductions of the Spring and Summer collections by the world famous Boyds Bears. Not seen in the UK for a while now, Boyds Bears have been bringing smiles to collectors and fans alike for over 35 years. Whilst Boyds Bears is sadly being put into retirement, you will be able to purchase some wonderful treasures shortly by visiting our new Boyds Bears section.

We continue to introduce website improvements to make it easier for our customers to get interactive with us and provide a better shopping experience. We’ve recently made a couple of changes to our check out page, a new contact form is available for queries, and a new live chat feature will be available starting Monday 6^th April. Whilst our customer service team normally operate Monday to Friday, we’re planning on making our live chat feature available at weekends for extra convenience.

21 days left till Christmas and rapidly reducing!

We can’t quite believe how quickly time has flown by. We’ve now been officially open for a little over 3 months now, and it’s been quite a journey for us as we get to grips with our systems to provide you the best possible online shopping experience.

Of particular note was the success of attending Tatton Park’s Christmas Gift fair earlier in November. We had a fabulous time meeting so many new customers and introducing you to the Department 56 range, and hand blown Christmas baubles which brought back childhood memories for some. The only tricky point was packing the stall back up, seemed so much easier putting it up! You can find some pictures of our stall in a photo album on our Facebook page.

Many of our customers are now getting ready to setup their Christmas villages, either for the first time or as a seasoned annual display. We’d love to see your displays, so head over to our Pinterest page where you’ll be able to post pictures of your Christmas village, which can provide inspiration and ideas to others.

Department 56 has announced its annual village and giftware retirements which we’ll be updating on our website shortly, but this includes many of our current available Dickens village items, peppermint accessories and sadly the entire Simpsons village range. However, we look forward to discovering what new buildings and accessories will be introduced next year.

We are also loving the Velvet Reindeer™ and Frost™ decorations, many include exclusive hand blown and hand painted baubles with exquisite designs and other unique decorations for your tree. These have been retired, so get them whilst you can!

Our Journey Begins....

Hello and a very warm welcome to our blog.

We are a small new online retailer with a focus on home decor and decorations for the seasons.

After many months in the planning (and sleepless nights!) we're now finally open. We are looking forward to the cooler autumn months which are now almost upon us.

We've got some great new novel products this autumn such as Department 56 porcelain lighted villages including the Snow Village Halloween series, Halloween decorations, and hand crafted wooden tealight holders.

One of our hot picks is the Harvest Crossing range from the Lemax Village Collection. This collection of lighted houses and accessories is a ideal for creating a beautiful autumn display, and a great alternative to those who may not celebrate Halloween in a big way. Without wishing our lives away, Christmas is also on the horizon are we're busy getting everything online, with the full line up hopefully being available by the end of October.
